How to arrange a courier pick up from an alternate address.

A package does not have to originate from your home or work address to make use of our cheap package delivery services. Many of our customers use our simple shipping calculator to get a price from an alternate address in the same country as them or even overseas.

Get items you have left behind collected easily.

We have found that quite often people who have been on holiday or a business trip have left an item behind, maybe a wallet or jacket and need to have it returned to them. Instead of leaving an item in the 'lost and found' department, you can simply book a collection with a courier and they will collect the item for you and bring it back to you.

Customers who have booked a collection from an alternate address with Parcel Monkey have had their items collected from hotels, resorts, golf courses, restaurants, car rentals and airports to name a few.

The key to a collection from an alternate address is to ensure that -

• The collection address is correct and relevant to where your package is. 

• A contact number at the point of collection is provided

• To inform somebody at the collection address a collection of your item is being made

• Provide the item's reference number on the booking details if the package is in a left luggage department so the courier knows what to collect

A number of missed collections occur when these details are provided, it is essential to provide the correct information of the collection address when you book to avoid any inconvenience. If the collection of your item is from an airport or hotel, provide the exact location of where it is to be collected from. 

What about the shipping labels?

Shipping labels can simply be forwarded to the collection address if you place an order for a collection from an alternate address. If you have booked a courier to go and collect something left behind at a hotel or resort for example, just email a contact at the hotel to provide them with the shipping label and they can attach it to the package and have the package ready for a courier to come in and collect.

You will be able to still track the package to delivery, just use the tracking number provided at the time of booking and our tracking tool on our site so you can monitor its progress.

Can I use your services to collect from an eBay seller?

From time to time eBay sellers leave the shipping up to the buyer to arrange. This is no problem if you want to book a courier through Parcel Monkey, as not only can we give you some of the best-priced couriers around, you can also arrange a collection from almost anywhere around the world.

All you need is for the seller to package the item, to then let you know the weight and measurements so you can use our shipping calculator to figure out which courier is best to ship the item. Once you have booked it in, email the shipping label over to the seller and any customs documents if required and your package can be picked up by a trusted courier.

It’s not just eBay that this can be used for, but any online marketplace like Facebook Marketplace, Etsy, Sears and more. Sometimes you might find an item you really like online and the seller doesn’t offer to ship to your destination, so you can offer to source this yourself and book one of our couriers.

Book a courier collection service for somebody else

Other customers wish to arrange a package delivery for friends and family that either doesn't have a credit card or debit card or just don't like using them online. Despite our system being secure, we understand that some people don't like ordering online. However, you're more than welcome to book on behalf of a family member and get the package collected from their home or work address and shipped to the chosen destination.

People also book on behalf of older family members, so all they have to do is print a label out and stick it to the box ready to hand over to the collection driver, or if they prefer to drop into a local Post Office if they have chosen a Drop Off service. If they are unfamiliar with what a courier service is and how it works, they might want to have somebody else arrange the first one for them.
